Job Description
Purpose and Scope

The Part-time Specialist III, Student Services has in depth knowledge of functions and processes throughout the scope of the specialty area. This position acts as a primary expert and provides advice and information to others. Ensures that all college and department policies and procedures surrounding the assigned area are implemented and carried out correctly by others. Primarily performs specialized functions requiring knowledge and experience.

Essential Job Functions

Assists students in processes relating to registration and admissions including academic advising on course transferability.

Provides advice and counsel in areas of expertise such as academic advising, financial aid, and student records.

Informs and orients students to help them succeed in a college setting.

Advises high-school students and parents on requirements for dual credit, admissions and determines exceptional admissions.

Provides expertise to others in the processing of transcripts.

Analyzes transfer coursework, accreditation, catalogs and numbering/grading systems to affect and maintain the Degree Audit system files.

Determines residency requirements.

Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability to manage and lead change.

Physical Abilities
The work is sedentary, may involve walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required.

Work Schedule and Conditions

Equipment includes PC workstation, calculator, phone and general office equipment.

Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.

Work performed in climate-controlled office with minimal safety hazards.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary
Hourly pay rate: $15.60.
