Summer School 2026 BEST Camp at Lansing Tech Teacher LSEA

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. For summer school, we are looking for teaching roles within the BEST (Bilingual Education Summer Tutoring) Camp. Internal applicants in the aligned bargaining unit will receive preference.

Responsibilities

Provide in‑person instruction for Multilingual Learner Students across one of the following grade clusters: K‑2, 3‑5, 6‑8, or 9‑12 during the BEST Camp.

Teach a targeted curriculum designed for the assigned grade cluster. K‑8 clusters focus on English Language acquisition & Literacy; 9‑12 clusters incorporate credit recovery.

Lead short daytime field trips to locations such as Potter Park, Ebersole, and Michigan State University.

Participate in a paid planning week before the program starts and complete debrief and reporting time after the program ends.

Work the program schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Program runs 6 weeks, beginning the week of June 16 and concluding the week of July 30.

Programming will occur onsite at Hill Center / Lansing Tech High School.

Salary: $36 per hour.
