For summer school, we are looking for a variety of roles. Internal applicants in the aligned bargaining unit will receive preference. For specific details on schedule and programming, reach out to the hiring manager/building administrator.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities
Lead teacher will support Multilingual Learner students as the point person for the school, responsible for managing the program outside of each individual classroom and across the school. BEST is a 6‑week program, starting the week of June 16th and running through the week of July 30th. The Lead Teacher will begin 1 week before for planning and preparation purposes. The program will take place onsite, in person at Hill Center / Lansing Tech High School. The curriculum for the K‑8 grade clusters will focus on English language acquisition & literacy; grades 9‑12 will also work on credit recovery. Short daytime field trips include locations such as Potter Park, Ebersole, and Michigan State University. The Lead Teacher will work an additional day a week, making the schedule 4 days (Monday–Thursday).
Compensation
$36 - $36 an hour
