Overview
An Industrial Blaster Painter prepares surfaces for painting using blasting techniques and applies industrial coatings, requiring skills in equipment operation, safety protocols, and coating application.
Responsibilities
Surface Preparation: Remove dirt, rust, old paint, and other contaminants from surfaces using various blasting media (e.g., sand, grit, shot). Prepare surfaces for painting to ensure proper adhesion and durability of the coating. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from defects before painting.
Coating Application: Apply industrial coatings (e.g., paints, primers, sealants) using various methods (e.g., spray guns, brushes, rollers). Mix and apply coatings according to specifications and safety guidelines.
Work environment
Fast paced and noisy, long-standing hours
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Workshop
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Industrial and epoxy painting experience
Zinc coating experience
Forklift experience
Sandblasting experience
SAP Experience Preferred (ERP systems a plus)
Nice to have
Paint mixing experience
Good communicator
Attention to detail (checking thickness in paint)
