Job Type: Full Time Nights
Position Summary
The Women's Services unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center is an 8–bed unit that focuses on delivering team-based, effective communication and care to women patients.
The RN is responsible for direct patient care, following the nursing process, and will work within applicable scope of practice and standards of care.
Responsibilities
Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
Document patient care provided.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
Required Skills
Critical thinking skills.
Decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Capable of working in a stressful environment and taking appropriate action.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree
required
Bachelor’s degree
preferred
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire.
Licenses
Registered Nurse licensed to work in the State of Kentucky.
