
Dewatering Electrician

Job Summary
Build, maintain, modify, or overhaul electronic and electrical equipment and controls for the dewatering network. Apply knowledge of electrical theory and electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operation.
Essential Functions
Plan work details by determining replacement needs or new materials required, and develop a logical approach to correct the problem.
Utilize knowledge of voltages ranging from 24 to 13,800 V, 480‑V submersible well motors, control panels, variable frequency drives, and low‑voltage instrumentation.
Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.
Receive wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions from the supervisor and schedule repairs, installation, and electrical inspection work.
Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and the operation of electrical equipment.
Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown, and in line with MSHA and OSHA requirements.
Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
Install, repair, and maintain communication cables and power distribution cables. Splice pieces as required.
Fabricate parts when not commercially available, using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
Determine needs for, analyze, and make necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
Advise and caution operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers.
Notify the supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment and the corrective action taken.
Ensure regular attendance is maintained.
Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
Possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards, and work with management to correct hazards.
Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write, perform simple mathematics, and maintain neat and accurate records.
Solid knowledge of electrical theory.
High degree of attention, care, and precision; work within minimum tolerances.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self‑starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
Availability for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Progression through wage scale contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
