Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Inventory Control / Purchasing Assistant
to support daily inventory management and purchasing operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory records, assisting with purchase orders, and ensuring timely availability of materials. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels
Track incoming and outgoing inventory; investigate discrepancies
Create, update, and process purchase orders
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery status
Maintain inventory and purchasing records in spreadsheets and internal systems
Generate inventory, purchasing, and usage reports using Microsoft Excel
Support physical inventory counts and audits
Coordinate with warehouse, operations, and accounting teams
Ensure documentation is complete and compliant with company policies
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
1–3 years of experience in inventory control, purchasing, or administrative support
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic understanding of purchasing and inventory management processes
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with inventory or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite)
Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, sorting, filtering, pivot tables a plus)
Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments
