Mobile Pharmacy Technician – Vinton, VA

PharMerica is hiring a Mobile Pharmacy Technician in Vinton, VA. Join our closed‑door pharmacy team where you’ll work in a non‑retail environment, dedicated to meeting the pharmaceutical needs of long‑term care and senior living clients. Responsibilities
Travel to multiple locations to support pharmacy operations and medication distribution
Collect information needed to fill prescriptions from customers or healthcare professionals
Measure, mix, and label medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
Ensure accurate prescription preparation and dispensing
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
Process insurance claims and handle medication inquiries
Ensure inventory control and proper storage of medications during transit
Adhere to all safety and security protocols while transporting medications
Communicate effectively with pharmacy teams and healthcare professionals
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician
License / Certification
Pharmacy technician certification preferred
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Travel Requirements
Percentage of Travel: 25‑75%
Reliable personal vehicle for travel
Ability to travel 60‑70% of the time
Physical Requirements
Performing this role requires frequently sitting, standing, walking, typing on a keyboard, and occasionally bending, reaching, and climbing (stairs/ladders). The ability to push/pull and lift/carry 11‑20 lbs is required.
