About the Role
Are you a precision‑driven machinist looking to elevate your career? We are seeking a CNC 5‑Axis Milling Machinist for our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. You will operate advanced 5‑axis mills and routers in an AS9100 environment, working with metals and composites.

Pay: $28–$35 per hour for experts in HAAS or Fanuc controls. Salary: $60,320 – $70,720 per year. Shift: Second; Work hours: 2 PM – 10:30 PM. Education required: High School.

Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Set up and operate machines to produce high‑precision parts based on work orders, blueprints, and material specifications.

Technical Interpretation: Interpret CNC programs, setup sheets, tool lists, job routings, part drawings, and in‑process quality instructions.

Tooling & Setup: Locate and load appropriate tool holders, fixtures, and tools. Load CNC programs into machine controls, including zero/reference points and tool offsets.

Quality Control: Set up and inspect parts (including 1st Article parts); use inspection results to make offsets or work with the team on program modifications.

Process Improvement: Provide recommendations to improve productivity and equipment utilization; identify the best use of tooling and machinery.

Maintenance & Safety: Perform and document regular preventative maintenance. Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA/Cal OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions

Work in a smoke‑free environment.

Wear steel‑toe shoes.

Work in a non‑temperature‑controlled environment.

Manual lifting up to 50 lbs.

Stand for 8 hours at a time.

Work up to 8 hrs of overtime per week.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

5+ years of experience with 3‑5 axis HAAS mills, DMS, BIESSE, or Thermwood routers.

Strong knowledge of HAAS, Fanuc, and SIEMENS controls.

Proficiency in reading complex blueprints and utilizing shop math.

Expertise with standard measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
