Client Intake Coordinator – Emergency Department (Swing Shift)

Schedule:
Full-Time | Wednesday–Saturday | 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
Compensation:
$25 – $32/hour (based on experience) + $5.50/hr shift differential (6 PM – 6 AM)
Overview
SAGE Concord is a veterinary hospital providing emergency and specialty services. This role acts as the essential link between clients and the clinical team during urgent and emotionally challenging situations, requiring calm, compassion, and organization to triage cases, communicate empathetically, and streamline patient intake for optimal care delivery.
Position Summary
As a
Client Intake Coordinator
in our
Emergency Department , you will be the essential link between our clients and clinical team during urgent and emotionally challenging situations. This role requires a calm, compassionate, and organized individual who can effectively triage incoming cases, communicate with empathy, and help streamline patient intake for optimal care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for emergency clients, gathering key patient information and relaying it to the clinical team
Accurately and efficiently triage emergency cases based on presenting symptoms and urgency
Obtain patient histories from clients and enter information into the medical record
Take initial vital signs and assist with physical intake of patients when appropriate
Coordinate with technicians and doctors to prioritize cases and communicate updates to clients
Maintain accurate invoicing by entering service charges during the intake process
Prepare exam rooms for incoming patients and maintain cleanliness
Help manage client expectations with clarity, compassion, and professionalism during high-stress situations
Support ER team flow and ensure timely handoffs between shifts
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience (ER or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred)
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Proven ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of veterinary terminology and emergency care protocols
Comfortable lifting 40+ lbs and standing for extended periods
Bilingual skills a plus, but not required
Schedule
4/10 schedule: Wednesday–Saturday
Swing Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Must be available for some holidays
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range: $25 – $32/hour, based on experience
Shift Differential: Additional $5.50/hour for hours worked between 6 PM – 6 AM
