Job Summary
The Plastic Molding Operator 2 plays an active role in the production process, performing independent machine operation and troubleshooting duties. This role requires knowledge of low‑pressure molding techniques and quality control standards to ensure production efficiency.

None.

Duties and Responsibilities

Setup, prepare and operate plastic molding machines efficiently.

Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues related to cycle times, expansion, and cooling.

Monitor production output and inspect molded products for quality assurance.

Conduct regular quality checks and inspections on molded parts, adjusting as needed.

Handle and manage raw materials, including low‑pressure molding pellets, ensuring proper feeding into the molding machines.

Conduct material blending and mixing processes to meet production requirements.

Perform routine maintenance on molding machines.

Maintain accurate records of production data, including machine settings, process parameters, and quality control measurements.

Provide documentation of any adjustments made during the molding process.

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns.

Assist in other duties as required.

Required Skills and Abilities

Good communication and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to operate and calibrate machinery.

Basic understanding of molding materials and production processes.

Basic math calculation skills.

Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs.

Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Requires 1 year of work experience in plastic molding.

Knowledge of MS Office applications.

Physical Requirements

Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use their hands to touch, handle and feel objects, and use tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and twist. Push and pull carts and pallet jacks, loaded or empty.

Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. 35–50 pounds can be lifted by one person if comfortable; 50 pounds or more requires assistance or use of a lifting device.

Vision abilities required are close, peripheral, and depth. Must have ability to recognize color.

Work Environment
Employees regularly work near moving, vibrating mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock. The noise level is moderate.
