Job Overview
The Coordinator Fine Arts will manage instructional program areas and perform some supervisory and administrative duties within the Fine Arts Department. The incumbent will supervise assigned Fine Arts program areas to ensure the delivery of a rigorous and aligned curriculum. The incumbent will also collaborate with others to ensure the continuous improvement of the District's Fine Arts programs and ensure the smooth operation of the Fine Arts Department and campus Fine Arts programs.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction
Supervise assigned Fine Arts program areas to ensure the delivery of a rigorous and aligned curriculum
Provide EC-12 Fine Arts teachers with the knowledge and skills to deliver the written, taught and assessed curriculum effectively, thereby improving student achievement and program retention
Plan, develop, execute and facilitate professional learning activities for Fine Arts teachers
Perform administrative and supervisory work involved in designing, developing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and revising Fine Arts curriculum
Advise teachers and other district personnel in the selection, use and purchase of instructional materials and equipment related to specific Fine Arts program areas
Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with others to ensure the continuous improvement of the District's Fine Arts programs
Provide recommendations for improvements to Fine Arts program areas as they relate to student needs
Participate in state, local and district meetings and workshops pertaining to assigned responsibilities
Remain current on educational trends and practices as they relate to education in general and more specifically to the Fine Arts
Program Management
Ensure the smooth operation of the Fine Arts Department and campus Fine Arts programs
Organize and implement specific events, displays, and competitions which are sponsored for district-wide
involvement in specific Fine Arts program areas
Oversee and coordinates all logistics related to summer programming for assigned Fine Arts program areas
Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Fine Arts with program management and administrative tasks
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist in the process of recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring of assigned staff
Plan, assign and direct work for personnel
Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner
Qualification Requirements

Master's degree
Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment Texas certification in Art, Dance, Music, or Theatre
Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher of elementary music
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience at the campus or district level
Ability to lead personnel in a positive manner
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and growing work environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to plan and implement programs, contests, productions, and exhibits
Ability to interact effectively with the public, and District staff and management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, with the capacity to quickly learn additional programs
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing

Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
Additional Information
This position requires travel to various campuses, district meeting sites and conferences/meetings in and out of state. This position may require the employee to work some evenings and weekends.
