WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are willing to extend yourself into a dual role of Host and Server Assistant. As Host, you will be the first point of contact and first impression for each guest. You will ensure the guests' dining needs are met, including reservations, dietary needs, and special requests. When performing duties as Server Assistant, you will deliver prompt and accommodating service to guests at an elevated level of service.

The Host/ Server Assistant position is part‑time, evening hours. Bridgeman's Chophouse is open daily for dinner. Shift is 4pm - 11pm most days. Holidays may include special lunch and dinner shift times.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Welcome guests to the restaurant in a warm and friendly manner

Manage the seating chart and seat guests accordingly

Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow

Answer phone calls, effectively communicating restaurant hours, availability, and policies

Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner

Perform opening and closing duties as needed

Assist with side work including, but not limited to: cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.

Assist servers to consistently deliver a quality experience for guests

Prepare food stations and maintain organized and clean guest tables

Serve food and drink to guests at the direction of the server

Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beverages

Clear, clean, and reset tables in preparation for arriving guests

Act as a connection between front of house and back of house when necessary

Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

Job Requirements
Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Certifications:

TABC Server Permit required within 60 days of hire

Skills

Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management

Proficiency in restaurant POS, reservation, and/or inventory applications

Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills

Strong observational skills

Physical & Mental Requirements

Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 20 pounds with or without assistance

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes more than 8 hours

Ability to hand‑carry service trays with 3 covered entrée plates

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high‑demand, fast‑paced environment with changing variables

Ability to apply patience and understanding to all persons and situations.

Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and/or management

The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
