
Facilities Maintenance Plumber

Description
General Maintenance Mechanic tasks include any activity needed for maintaining the plant facilities and equipment.
The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of plumbing systems and be capable of identifying, troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventative maintenance in a commercial/industrial work environment.
Plumbers’ general duties include but are not limited to installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems and plumbing fixtures; responding to, diagnosing, and resolving plumbing emergencies; and performing routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, maintain and fabricate plant facilities and equipment.
Perform general maintenance and service functions including mechanical and electrical repairs, welding, pipefitting, air conditioning, carpentry work and painting.
Conduct periodic inspections, tests and report findings.
Receive general instructions from supervisors and act on service requests.
Work from blueprints, sketches and oral instructions and specifications.
Use hand tools, power tools and other equipment necessary for completion of assignments.
May direct other employees assigned to the job.
Basic Qualifications
Primary or secondary skill must be one of plumber, carpenter, pipe fitter, air conditioning, mechanic, maintenance welder or machine repairer.
Must be able to operate material handling equipment and rigging equipment.
Apprenticeship papers, journeymen’s card or 5+ years of equivalent experience in a skilled trade required; working knowledge of machine tools and welding is a plus.
Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Candidate must supply all customary hand tools of the trade.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret clearance and be a US citizen.
Must regularly demonstrate ability to lift a nominal weight, climb ladders, utilize elevated working platforms and bend while servicing equipment.
Security Clearance
This position requires a US Citizen and a Secret clearance.
Compensation
The base range for this position in New Jersey is $31.12 - $40.35 per hour.
