Operations Associate
for our
Port Arthur, TX
location. The Operations Associate is responsible for inventory, transporting, delivering, and handling of lubricants. This role supports both customer delivery operations and refinery plant functions, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely product movement while maintaining compliance with company, regulatory, and customer safety requirements.
Duties
Transport Lubricants by totes, drums, or case goods using non-CDL box and stake-bed trucks.
Read orders or instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Load, unload, and pump product from/to totes, drums, or tanks at customer sites.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections (tires, lights, brakes, fluids).
Safely operate vehicles in compliance with driving regulations and company policies.
May perform minor roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs, wipers etc.
Ensure loads are properly secured and delivered to correct locations.
Assist with weekly inventory of MSP-serviced refinery tanks and report readings before and after deliveries.
Monitor product levels, notify management of inventory changes, and ensure required replenishment.
Perform visual inspections of tanks and products to identify possible contamination.
Support general plant operations and other assigned tasks.
Follow plant safety guidelines, including use of spotters in confined areas.
Read and understand tote/tank strapping charts.
Comply with Shell DPQA guidelines for handling specific products.
Adhere to company safety standards for lifting (up to 40 lbs. manually, up to 80 lbs. with assistance, up to 440 lbs. with a drum dolly).
Report and address any equipment or product issues promptly.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge & Experience
Minimum 2-year warehouse experience, preferably in Plant/Lubes setting.
Working knowledge of material handling and replenishment practices, including FIFO.
Ability to read and apply tote/tank strapping charts.
Basic math skills for calculating tank/tote capacities during refills.
Qualifications & Characteristics
Ability to safely handle lifting requirements (up to 40 lbs. manually, up to 80 lbs. with assistance, up to 440 lbs. with a drum dolly).
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Effective communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize workload and meet delivery/plant standards.
Demonstrated reliability, including punctuality and consistent attendance.
