The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the overall management of benefits administration while providing essential day‑to‑day support to employees and leadership.

$60,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on experience

1.0 FTE, Full – Time / Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Functions & Responsibilities:
Manage benefits within systems in coordination with finance and workforce departments; including new hire enrollments, life events and carrier exceptions
Manage organizations leave of absence process, claims submissions, vendor relationship and employs/leader support.
Assist with Benefits 101 and informational training for employees on benefits enrollment.
Coordinate and support open enrollment process and communications.
Monitor all carrier reporting and files for benefit enrollment and/or changes.
Complete ongoing auditing and report keeping for all financial records related to benefits.
Complete HSA, FSA, and 401K funding and reconciliation.
Manage ACA Dashboard including end of year 1095 process.
Qualifications:
Education
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and/or minimum of three years’ experience in human resources or benefits environment, preferably health care oriented.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Possess good interpersonal skills: Communicate clearly and confidently, coach and motivate others, handle employee issues, etc.
Responsible, mature, and flexible.
Ability to be a functional member of an interdisciplinary problem solving team and foster good interdepartmental relationships.
Have good problem solving and decision making skills.
Possess the ability to evaluate cost effectiveness and preventative measures.
Possess ability to balance day to day management of priorities of people, projects, and deadlines.
Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and work independently.
