Job Description
Simon Maverick, an audio-focused, hybrid imprint of Simon & Schuster, is looking for an organized, self-starter to work in an editorial and marketing capacity, playing a direct role in the publication of Simon Maverick titles across audio and print formats.
Editorial Responsibilities
Supervise and shepherd titles across all formats through the production pipeline.
Coordinate with production, schedule publication dates, and draft P&Ls and contract proposals.
Draft and edit tip sheets, read submissions, and manage related tasks.
Marketing Responsibilities
Contribute to Simon Maverick’s social media outreach, including post preparation, scheduling, and content creation.
Create social media influencer databases and respond to reader and influencer outreach.
Help produce graphic design and video/audio content for Maverick’s feeds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Maverick editorial and marketing team to maintain schedules and keep the pipeline of materials flowing to production.
Create P&Ls and contract proposals for title acquisition.
Circulate manuscripts to production, publicity, marketing, and subrights departments.
Handle general administrative responsibilities for Maverick editorial staff.
Collaborate with the marketing team on content creation, outreach, and response efforts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Relevant experience or internships in editorial or marketing.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet quick deadlines.
Ability to track numerous projects in varying stages of development with differing production and publication needs.
Superb verbal and written communication skills.
Awareness of the current publishing marketplace and enthusiasm for audiobooks.
Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Canva, and general computer skills.

Starting pay depends on geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
