CBSM Advisor/Recruiting Coordinator

Position Overview
Student Advisor/Recruiting Coordinator – Department of Accounting, Applied Management, Business Administration, Economics, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and MBA programs. Full‑time, 12‑month position with regular business hours Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekends, evenings, and travel for college and career fairs may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students in person, by phone, e‑mail, and Zoom.

Collaborate with other academic advisors to plan, coordinate, and implement recruiting and retention activities.

Meet with students and parents during campus visits and partner with UAF Admissions.

Attend local and out‑of‑town college and career fairs, speak to incoming students at UAF events, and meet high school students.

Deliver public presentations to campus‑visiting groups and prospective students, both in‑person and virtually.

Develop articulation agreements with partner colleges to support CBSM programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience or training in a professional environment.

Minimum of two years of relevant work experience, preferably in higher education.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse set of students.

Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate UAF academic policies, procedures, and FERPA requirements.

High level of confidentiality and understanding of FERPA.

Position Details

Location: Troth Yeddha campus, Fairbanks.

New hires placed on UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79.
