Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for the position of Senior Academic Advisor, Lee Business School ( R0146012 ).

Role
As a senior academic advisor in UNLV’s Lee Business School Undergraduate Advising office, the individual is part of a team who supports the college’s and university’s missions by providing information and guidance to students. The advisor focuses on at‑risk students and implements interventions for UNLV’s Progression, Retention, and Completion initiative.

Responsibilities

Participate in recruiting events.

Provide academic guidance to students via appointments, e‑mail, presentations, and information sessions.

Refer students to campus resources as needed.

Create, edit, and disseminate information for handouts, website, catalog, and related materials.

Review and process paperwork submitted by students.

Maintain relationships with colleagues on campus and at other Nevada System of Higher Education institutions.

Maintain relationships with the college’s department chairs and faculty.

Serve as an informational resource to the college’s deans, department chairs, faculty, and staff regarding academic policies and administrative procedures.

Participate in UNLV’s Academic Advising Council.

Coordinate group advising and prospective student outreach.

Manage academic intervention programs for at‑risk students.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and three years of related professional experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.
