JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department at the Melrose Park location, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent, compensation and benefits strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and human resources related trainings.
Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff for the Melrose Park location.
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, initiatives, and surveys to support the location’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
Monitors and ensures the location’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Ensures compliance in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement; guiding leadership in appropriate processes and procedures.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse
eglect of individuals as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

TRAINING, ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
At least five years of human resource experience required.
At least 2 years of leadership experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
At least 5 years of leadership experience preferred
Experience with non‑profit or educational agencies strongly preferred.
