$58,000.00

Calendar:

Certified, teachers new to district 203 workdays, returning teachers 201 workdays

Benefits:

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New Hire Experience:

$400 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience in the last 10 years, max $2800, National Board Certification $3,000 annually

New Hire Education:

$1250 for advanced degrees + $80/hour of graduate level credits: BA +96hoursmax, MA +96hoursmax, $500 for additional advanced degrees beyond Master's

Job Goal
The Classroom Teacher guides students toward achieving their full potential by transforming district curriculum standards into engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Through effective instruction and specialized assignments, the teacher promotes academic growth and personal development. This role upholds Chandler Unified School District’s mission and vision by fostering an equitable, safe, and supportive learning environment that challenges and empowers all learners.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's Degree

AZ Teaching Certificate

AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

SEI endorsement coursework completed

Appropriately Certified - ONE of the following:

Early Childhood Special Education certificate

Mild-Moderate Disabilities certificate

Cross-Categorical certificate

Special Education ID certificate

Special Education LD certificate

Special Education ED certificate

Moderate/Severe Disabilities certificate and an Early Childhood Education Endorsement

Moderate/Severe Disabilities certificate and an Early Childhood Education certificate

Standard Professional teaching certificate and a Provisional or full Mild/Moderate Disabilities, PreK-12 endorsement

Core Job Functions

Communicates learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language

Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population, including curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems, and students with special needs

Create lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards

Use available technology to enhance learning

Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs

Facilitate instruction based on current research-based best practices

Effectively implement Individual Education Plans

Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction

Participate in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low-performing students

Document and resolve issues related to student behavior problems and attendance

Reflect on teaching and strive to improve professional competence

Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities

Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities

Maintain accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation

Participate in the intervention process at sites

Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences

Participate in school and District initiatives

Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision, or other planning and professional assignments

Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the District or school site

Physical Requirements

Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting.
