Position Summary: Those who serve in the position of English Teacher stand at the center of College Lift’s flagship program, Saturday Academy. English Teachers are responsible for delivering the primary instructional content within the English area of expertise to a given grade level of College Lift scholars.

Minimum Qualifications

Teacher licensure/certification and/or at least two (2) years of teaching experience in English within a K-12 education setting.

Ability and commitment to teach 21 Saturdays each academic year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate four 55‑minute instructional sessions in English every Saturday Academy.

Collaborate with instructional assistant to facilitate small group/individual instruction; this includes all related activities of Saturday Academy.

Complete post‑instructional data management in collaboration with Academic Coordinator.

Physical Demands

Regularly operate and use computers, phones, and other electronic equipment.

Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with others.

Move around office and/or campus to attend meetings/classes and access files, machinery, or other tools.

Lift and/or move equipment, tools, or paperwork up to 25 pounds.

Position themselves by reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching to adjust or collect equipment and/or supplies.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment Characteristics

Encounters low to moderate noise levels in the work environment.
