Physical Therapist (Per Diem) - Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center
We are seeking a dynamic and caring Physical Therapist to join our per diem team at Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, an award-winning skilled nursing facility in Sandisfield.
We are a 57-bed all-male nursing home with a large veteran population and a majority of long-term stay residents. Up to $55 an hour.
Job Summary
As a Physical Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, providing teaching and training to caregiver staff and supervising other therapists, assistants, aides, and students as required.
Responsibilities
Screen patients/residents
Evaluate patients/residents and develop appropriate care plans
Provide direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care
Consult with and train patients, residents, and caregivers
Monitor efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor
Document activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis
Demonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
Communicate effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor
Participate in clinical program development and implementation
Participate in the training and orientation of other staff, students, and volunteers
Participate in the interview process for new staff
Participate in census building and marketing activities
Participate in quality improvement activities
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
Appropriate licensing requirements by individual states must be maintained
Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and direct patient care
Requires intense attention and concentration
Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
