Pay or shift range: $28 USD to $35 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
Description

Job Summary

Responsible to perform mold setups and changeovers as it relates to the production schedule. Additionally, will be responsible for the cleaning, assembly and testing of nozzles, nozzle blocks, barrels, rods and manifold extensions to ensure proper working condition is maintained. The incumbent is expected to be a self‑starter, a good manager of time, be able to work independently and follow Pretium Packaging’s standards for safety and conduct.
Responsibilities

Perform prep work to prepare for mold changeovers and correct process‑related problems as directed by supervisor.
Execute tooling setups and changes, completing required documentation to ensure all work is performed in accordance with standardized procedures, instructions and standards.
Perform preventative maintenance on all tools in production such as cleaning and greasing molds; clean, inspect and lubricate equipment and machinery; communicate parts inventory issues to the supervisor.
Respond to trouble‑shooting calls and mold performance issues to identify causes and perform or assist with repair. Evaluate and discuss the operation of assigned machinery with other affected personnel.
Attend training sessions to maintain and/or improve technical knowledge and performance and provide technical assistance and training to all operators, where applicable.
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers; follow written instructions; use a variety of hand and power tools; wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); operate material handling equipment; maintain the safest possible working environment for self and all facility associates.
Perform quality checks on containers to ensure proper specifications are maintained; document any problems or adjustments made to assigned machinery.
Maintain tools in order to perform all functions of the job; a minimum list of tools will be given by plant management.
Adhere to all required safety protocols and policies and conduct oneself in a safe manner.
Wear PPE properly in accordance with company standards.
Keep the area around the workstation clean and free of dirt and debris; clean assigned areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by the supervisor.
Follow plant‑specified job specifications and task lists.
Work assigned shifts, including overtime and after‑hour meetings as needed.
Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Food Safety Responsibilities

Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and document data correctly at all times.
Ensure all work‑product contact surfaces are restored to a sanitary condition after any job completion.
Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to the appropriate personnel.
Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED.
1 to 3 years of change‑over experience.
Experience in plastics or packaging industry preferred.

Physical Demands

The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision. The employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk on concrete; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, bend or twist; occasionally required to push, pull, and/or move materials.
Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most manufacturing environments. The noise level is usually moderate to high with ear protection required.
