
Litigation Paralegal

Responsibilities
Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments
Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.)
Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
Provide assistance with case settlements
Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of Default Operations industry standards including creditors' rights
Minimum of 5 years Litigation Paralegal experience required
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc.
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
Extensive computer and database expertise including proficiency with Microsoft products
Paralegal associate degree or other relevant certification
Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
Excellent professional communication skills; interaction with all interoffice personnel, managers and attorneys as well as clients and outside vendors
Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS Word
Well organized, effective time management, prioritise and allocate workload for optimum efficiency
Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
Working knowledge of client systems including Black Knight/LPS, Tempo, CaseAware
