Position urgency: Quick Start

Responsibilities

Deliver prescribed physical therapy assistant treatments under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, following the care plan and modifying activities as directed to promote safety and functional gains.

Implement and progress therapeutic exercise programs, gait training, balance activities, ROM and strengthening techniques, and functional tasks that support residents’ daily living activities.

Apply appropriate modalities and assistive devices within scope of practice; monitor patient responses and adjust interventions in collaboration with the supervising PT.

Document patient progress, outcomes, and any adverse events accurately in the chart; communicate changes in status to the clinical team and participate in care conferences as needed.

Educate residents and family members on home exercise programs, safety precautions, fall prevention, and activity modification to support community reintegration and long‑term functioning.

Maintain high standards of infection control, privacy, and safety; ensure the therapy area is clean, organized, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in good standing; Wyoming licensure preferred or eligibility for Wyoming licensure.

Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.

Current CPR/BLS certification.

At least 1 year of PTA clinical experience is preferred (demonstrated competence in geriatric rehabilitation is a plus).

Ability to work in a long‑term care setting with elderly residents; strong communication and teamwork skills; reliable transportation for travel assignments as required.

Must be able to work daytime shifts and adhere to the contract’s guaranteed hours and schedule.
