Who You Are
You are a highly motivated professional ready to join the Facilities Operations and Maintenance team. You are a self- starter skilled in the management of HVAC for commercial building maintenance, a leader, a problem solver, and a team player.
What You Will Do
The HVAC Mechanic III performs advanced (senior-level) heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) mechanic work. Work involves assigning, scheduling or overseeing the work of staff engaged in the installation, maintenance, repair and service of plant equipment and component parts in units such as heating, air conditioning, ventilation and power distribution systems. May supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
You Will Be Trusted To
Overhaul and service or coordinate the overhaul and servicing of HVAC equipment.
Repair, Service, and Maintain the overhaul and servicing of air compressors and pumps associated with HVAC equipment and systems.
Repair and replace worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors and water and vacuum pumps.
Repair or adjust valves, piping connections, fittings and couplings.
Remove and install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
Monitor energy consumption of HVAC systems and make recommendations for increased energy efficiency in operations.
Check gauges and perform preventive maintenance work.
Maintain records and prepare reports on repairs and service to equipment.
Assist in developing plans, specifications and estimates of heating, ventilating and air conditioning maintenance and renovation projects.
Plan and oversee the installation of HVAC systems.
Plan long-range heating, ventilating and air conditioning maintenance programs.
Serve as a lead worker providing direction to others.
Work from blueprints and sketches
Diagnose malfunctioning equipment
Prepare reports
Perform related work as assigned.
You Qualify With
One year of full-time experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning and/or heating equipment.
Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
