The Dining Services Associate will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety of the dining operations. This includes front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house areas, receiving and stocking duties, and supporting the core values of safety, sanitation, and excellence. The role also involves assisting with special events and supporting the mission of Villanova University.

Schedule
Tuesday – Saturday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (normal operating hours). Salary: $17.50 per hour with shift differential for qualifying shifts. Start date: on or after June 1, 2026.

Essential Job Functions

Scrapes, cleans, sanitizes, and replenishes all dishes, silverware, cups, glasses, pots, and pans; properly store all clean items.

Operates dish machine or pot machine, records proper temperatures and correct levels of chemical sanitizers according to regulations; loads and unloads machine.

Disposes of food waste and trash from front and back of house; sweeps and mops floors and walk‑in refrigerators; separates recycling from trash.

Assists in receiving, storing, transporting and stocking of food and nonfood items.

Nonessential Job Functions

Assists in transporting supplies from storage areas to work areas as required; fills juices, milk, and soda machines as needed.

Assists on serving lines or back‑of‑house prep work if needed; acts as a runner to replenish food supplies on service lines; communicates with cooks concerning amounts of food on service lines.

Works special events/weekends as required.

Performs additional duties and assists with special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic reading and writing skills; basic communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Practices excellent personal hygiene habits and follows uniform standards.

Ability to follow directions, complete assigned tasks, work with minimal supervision, and interact with people on a constant basis.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of food service safety and sanitation.

Serv Safe Training and Allergy Awareness Training.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 pounds independently.

Ability to withstand extreme temperatures.

Tools, machinery, and equipment used include knives, slicers, and all kitchen equipment.

Chemicals used for cleaning and weather exposure for special events.
