Overview
Medical Scheduler role open exclusively to current AL DOC incumbent employees.
NaphCare is hiring a Medical Scheduler to join a team of medical professionals in Easterling Correctional Facility in Clio, Alabama. Full‑time and part‑time positions may be available.
As a Correctional Medical Scheduler, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals who provide care to the individuals in residence, scheduling off‑site appointments. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to a diverse population of patients.

Responsibilities
The Medical Scheduler is responsible for managing and coordinating healthcare appointments for the facility. Duties include:
Scheduling various medical appointments, including on‑site clinic visits and off‑site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff
Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, including entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information
Arranging transportation for inmates to and from appointments, ensuring timely and secure transfers
Effectively communicating with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and other medical information
Adhering to all relevant security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations
Utilizing computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data
Performing additional duties and specific projects as assigned
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Prior training in a medical office setting scheduling medical appointments and working with medical records preferred.
A working knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills, adaptable to environments where conditions may not be pristine, and able to manage and maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information, uphold integrity, professionalism, and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.
