Overview

The Scheduler II is responsible for implementation, training, oversight and conducting Project Controls related practices for projects across MasTec Industrial’s operational groups.
Location & Travel Details

You can be based in any city or state in the U.S. This is a traveling, project based position, up to 90% of the time. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-18 months on average per project. We offer designated per diem in addition to an excellent base salary to support and help you cover living expenses. This position is eligible for mobilization support (may include mileage reimbursement), and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Works under the direction of either the Scheduler III or Sr. Scheduler on complex assignments to:
Establish the Proposal or Project Baseline Schedule
Demonstrates working knowledge of Project Planning and Execution Planning Session
Demonstrates working knowledge of Logic Development, Schedule Updates and Forecasting
Work with each phase team (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) to define key milestones and interface dates
Resource and Commodity load schedules and provide graphics associated with each
Author and update the Scheduling narrative in weekly and monthly reports
Demonstrates working knowledge of compliance and Project Controls oversight throughout the lifecycle of a project
Ensure client Project Controls and Reporting specifications and requirements are met per contract
Supports Project Management with project reporting requirements
Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical major; equivalent combination of education and experience
Three (3) to Five (5) years of Project Controls Schedule Analysis or related work experience preferred
Working knowledge of Workface Planning Techniques and Scheduling requirements a plus
Professional Level Certification (AACE, PMI or other) a plus
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors
Set a personal example of safe behavior
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
Demonstrates a working knowledge of InEight and P6
Proficiency in reading and interpreting Engineering and Contract documents
Understanding and knowledge of Critical Path Scheduling Techniques
Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments
Exceptional team building skills and ability to collaborate with groups throughout the company
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to comprehend complex assignments and work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands

Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions
May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks
Stamina to perform tasks repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals
Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions
Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, odors and loud noises
Personal protective equipment is required (safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas; may work at heights with fall protection requirements
Ability to interpret information based on measurable standards and visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings
Keep good balance and see well and hear well (corrected as needed)
Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet
