About the Role:

The Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable manages all aspects of day‑to‑day and month‑end close related accounting operations, including, but not limited to, accounts payable corporate credit card transaction management, accruals, reconciliations, and Flux Analysis. To support business growth we have created this role. All responsibilities must be performed in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing judgment, discretion, and critical thinking in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with direct accounts payable experience.
You Will:

Independently manage the accounts payable operations, including management of AP inbox, vendor onboarding, vendor inquiries, and preparation of AP reconciliations.
Support month‑end close processes by researching and ensuring vendor invoices are properly coded and approved per accounting policies in the billing system, with appropriate support for processing. Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to assess the appropriateness and accuracy of accounting accruals and book accruals accordingly.
Review corporate credit card coding, ensure all transactions are posted to the correct general ledger. Apply critical thinking skills to the review process, ensuring only expenses that are compliant with corporate credit card policies are posted.
Independently review employee reimbursements, communicate with employees and managers to determine the validity and coding accuracy, using discretion and professional judgement to resolve coding issues.
Complete reconciliations for the month‑end close process, including assisting with account reconciliations and preparing/posting manual journal entries in a timely and accurate manner. Use root‑cause analysis to resolve any vendor balance discrepancies.
Independently review the work performed by the outsourced offshore accounting team, provide feedback, create new work streams and training instructions for the outsourced accounting team as needed.
Design and implement scalable processes to enhance accounting operations’ operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy, including the design and implementation of internal control measures and periodic review of compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley.
Independently assist with ad‑hoc accounting projects and resolve issues arising from daily accounting operations processes.
Utilize professional expertise to develop and implement standard operating procedures related to accounting operations.
You Have:

Experience managing vendor portfolio balances over $1B annually.
Advanced Excel skills required.
Netsuite, BILL(.com), Brex, Coupa experience preferred.
Top‑level critical thinking and analytical skills.
Detail‑oriented and exceptionally organized.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work products. Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast‑growing environment with frequently changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with various levels of difficulty in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in spreadsheets (MS Excel and Google Sheets) and word processing (MS Word and Google Docs). Advanced Excel skills preferred.
