About This Role
The Facilities Technician II supports the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of plant utility systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical utility and facility systems that support both cGMP and non-GMP areas.

This position plays a key role in ensuring continuous manufacturing operations through effective alarm response, routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing teams.

Shift Details:

Schedule: 12-hour rotating 2-2-3 schedule

Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)

Shift Incentive: 15%

What You’ll Do

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant utility systems, including:

Medium-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors

Reverse Osmosis (RO), USP water systems, water softeners, WFI stills, and clean steam generators

Nitrogen and compressed gas delivery systems

Electrical systems, including lighting

Fire monitoring and sprinkler systems

HEPA certifications, biosafety cabinets, and parts washers

Respond to alarms for cGMP areas and controlled spaces and provide appropriate communication and escalation

Perform basic HVAC‑R alarm response and coordination (stability chambers, freezers, cold rooms)

Offload, inspect, operate, maintain, and respond to alarms or spills related to hazardous waste tank systems

Monitor mechanical spaces for leaks, local alarms, and system abnormalities across all buildings

Support hazardous waste handling and process waste streams in compliance with site and regulatory requirements

Use LogCheck or similar tools to complete daily inspections and documentation

Author and update SOPs and preventive maintenance (PM) procedures

You are a strong team player and problem solver, comfortable working independently during night shifts while coordinating with cross-functional teams. You are eager to learn new systems and processes and are committed to maintaining reliable and compliant facility operations that ultimately support patient outcomes.

Willing and able to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and weekends as required.

Required Skills

Highschool diploma or equivalent

Minimum of two years of experience in an industrial or large-scale utility plant environment supporting multiple system

Experience troubleshooting mechanical and utility equipment

Understanding of control systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Preferred Skills

Experience working in biotech, pharmaceutical, or other cGMP-regulated manufacturing environments

Familiarity with CMMS, BMS, and basic control systems

Exposure to air handling, ventilation, or environmental systems within a manufacturing setting

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

Experience drafting SOPs and preventive maintenance procedures

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is: $31.25-$40.86. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
