Overview
At Regions, the Home Improvement Financing Lending Specialist is responsible for accepting and processing customer loan applications while maintaining a high level of customer service and accuracy in all job functions. The role also provides administrative support within the group and communicates professionally with external customers and internal partners.
Regions Home Improvement Financing, a division of Regions Bank, engages in strategic partnerships with home‑improvement manufacturers, distributors, franchisors, trade groups, and independent contractors to provide Point‑of‑Sale financing capabilities. This enables these partners to provide homeowners with an additional option to pay for various improvements to their homes, benefitting both the contractor partner and the homeowner.
Primary Responsibilities
Handles customer phone calls and assists customers with financing home improvements
Adjusts existing applications as needed
Communicates application processes and provides approval or denial decisions to customers
Ensures company procedures are followed
Serves as a back‑up to perform administrative support functions
Prepares and composes letters and reports
May provide guidance to associates with less experience
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Preferences
Professional work experience preferably in a financial institution
Skills and Competencies
Ability to use good judgement in difficult situations
Ability to work in a fast‑paced and team environment
Demonstrated ability to follow directions and training procedures
Excellent computer skills, including general database applications and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent customer relation skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Shift Schedules
Shift 1: full‑time, 7am-3:30pm
Shift 2: full‑time, 6am-2:30pm
Shift 3: full‑time, 8am-4:30pm
Each shift is Monday through Friday. Lending Specialists work an 8‑hour Saturday shift every 3 weeks, and they get a weekday off when this occurs. Shared holiday rotation with the team, comes out to be about 2 holidays per year.
Additional Preferences
Ability to accurately observe stable and scrolling on‑screen text and images
Ability to accurately detect verbal information and communicate verbally using a headset or speaker and microphone
Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse to type and make on‑screen selections
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
Job Range Target:
Minimum: $36,500.00 USD
50th Percentile: $41,790.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans: This job is not incentive eligible.
