Admission Coordinator (PRN) – Varied Shifts – Havenwyck Hospital (UHS)
Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission‑accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. Position Summary
The Admission Coordinator answers the hospital switchboard phone, verifies insurances, obtains signatures on admitting paperwork and processes all admission forms. The Coordinator interfaces with the Intake Department, patients and nursing units.

Duties

Verify insurance eligibility, co‑pays, deductibles, and pre‑existing terms via phone or online, documenting and explaining information to staff.

Conduct the admission process with patients and/or families, explaining forms and obtaining signatures.

Accurately enter and delete admission and discharge data in the computer system.

Compile admissions and discharges on the daily census sheet.

Welcome the public at the hospital and direct them to appropriate staff or department.

Answer the switchboard professionally and transfer calls to the correct department.

Document in patient records the provision of Patient Rights Booklet and Advance Directive information.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience verifying insurance required.

1–3 years of experience in an admissions or related department required.

Phone/switchboard and typing/computer skills required.

Professional, customer‑service focused with strong communication, multitasking and problem‑solving skills.

Currently in good standing to be considered for internal transfer.
