Valid New Jersey Teacher of English Certificate.
Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.

Performance Responsibilities
Preparation: Select materials, resources, and technologies that support instructional goals and student learning.
Lesson plans are available during the observation and meet school/district standards for format, differentiation, and rigor.
Planning reflects connections to New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards or Career Competencies and Camden County Technical Schools curriculum; connections are extensive.
Plan recognizes prerequisite skills and uses cross-content connections to deepen knowledge.
Modify instructional plans according to student achievement as measured by assessments.
Use Individualized Education Program (IEP) where prescribed to meet the student’s needs.
All goals are clear and measured by ongoing assessments.
Exhibit positive verbal and non-verbal communication; encourage student engagement.
Organize tasks so groups work independently and are productively engaged.
Prepare students to handle materials and maximize instructional time; routines are seamless.
Inclusion teachers and technicians contribute to planning and learning environment.
Display thorough understanding of content-specific instructional practices.
Provide clear directions; demonstrate expectations for learning.
Use effective, rigorous questioning strategies; encourage student inquiry.
