Female Children and Youth Ministry Intern: First Presbyterian Church
Job Description:
Purpose
The primary purpose of the internship is to support the Children & Youth Ministry of FPC and to provide a learning opportunity through ministry with children and youth. In particular, the internship seeks to enable interns to:
Gain practical ministry training
Work in an atmosphere of personal and professional guidance and support
Explore their vocational call and develop their gifts and skills
Responsibilities
Work with the Assistant Pastor of Children, Youth, and Families and other youth and children’s ministry partners and parents to create and implement ministry experiences that help children and youth grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Assist in planning program elements to include opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, service, mission, worship, retreats, and special events.
Maintain personal, spiritual, and professional growth.
Communicate effectively and efficiently to ensure youth and parents are informed with regard to upcoming events.
Social Media Management for FPC Youth and Children
Assist in preparing and teaching weekly lessons for Children’s Church and Children’s and Youth Sunday School
Engage in relational ministry (1:1 Contact)
Lead youth small groups
Position Qualifications:
A demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ
A goal-oriented individual who is a mature, organized self-starter with strong communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with children and youth, exhibiting empathy and patience.
