
Electrical Engineer Intern

Overview
Leidos has a job opening beginning in the Spring of 2026 for an Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-Op in Reston, VA. Work will consist of a wide range of project tasks to include: Research, analysis and design of electrical systems, components and circuits. Solving technical problems by developing solutions and processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Creating/Updating CAD electrical diagrams, performing simulations, collecting data and documenting technical procedures for research projects.
Conduct schematic analysis, layout reviews, and circuit design/redesign.
Use CAD and other software for simulation development and execution.
Participate in team meetings, contribute to design reviews, and work with cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications
Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or directly related field.
The student must be willing/able to take a semester off to work through the Spring (January-June) or Fall (June-December) semester.
Minimum 3.0 GPA. Please note your GPA on your resume when submitting your application.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph Security clearance.
US Citizenship required.
Willing and able to relocate to Reston, Virginia, if needed.
Foundational knowledge in circuit analysis.
Proficiency in simulation software (MATLAB, etc)
Basic computer programming skills (Python, C/C++, etc).
Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD, C/C++, Python or VHDL/Verilog
Foundational knowledge in either Chemical, Biological or Nuclear engineering.
Pay Range
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
