Accounting Specialist
Location: Dunwoody Village, Newtown Square, PA
Dunwoody Village, a premier continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Delaware County, PA is seeking a full-time career-oriented Accounting Specialist.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, supporting month-end close, and ensuring timely processing of payroll and vendor payments in compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in both accounting and transactional processing.
How you will make an impact:
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments
Maintain and reconcile general ledger and bank accounts monthly
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Track fixed assets and assist with depreciation schedules
Assist with audit preparation, including gathering documentation and schedules
Process vendor invoices and ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation
Prepare and issue payments via check, ACH, and other approved methods
Maintain vendor files, W-9 documentation, and 1099 reporting
Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy of pay, deductions, and benefits
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements
Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journal entries and account balances
Assist with implementation and maintenance of automated AP and payroll systems
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards
Participate in process improvement and internal control procedures
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

What you will need:
Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Accounting Specialist/Staff Accountant preferably in CCRC/Healthcare setting.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
Excellent customer service experience when working with residents, staff, and vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll software (Dayforce, ADP, UKG, Sage, PointClickCare (PCC), or similar)
Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
