Field Installation Technician (Nationwide Travel)

Overview
Join a high-impact team where your technical expertise is put to work across diverse, real-world environments. As a Field Installation Technician, you’ll lead the deployment, installation, and troubleshooting of advanced technology solutions for clients nationwide. This role offers consistent travel, hands-on work, and exposure to large-scale projects across retail, restaurant, and commercial environments.
What You’ll Do
Install, configure, and troubleshoot:
POS systems
Network infrastructure (routers, switches, wireless access points)
PCs, peripherals, and related hardware
Execute low-voltage cabling installations:
Pull, route, and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
Test and validate connections using industry-standard tools
Conduct pre-installation site surveys to assess layout, identify risks, and ensure efficient execution
Partner with project managers, clients, and field teams to deliver projects on time and to spec
Maintain accurate documentation, including installation reports and project updates
Uphold safety standards and represent the company with professionalism at all customer sites
Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and materials in the field
What You Bring
Hands-on experience installing and supporting POS systems, networking equipment, and PC hardware
Strong background in low-voltage cabling (installation, termination, and testing)
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in the field
Experience working in commercial or industrial environments
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
Valid driver’s license with a clean record

Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific credentials
Experience with large-scale rollouts (retail, restaurant, distribution centers)
Knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and networking protocols
Low xywuqvp Voltage or Electrical licensing
Work Environment & Travel
~85% travel across the U.S. with frequent overnight stays
Opportunity to work on varied, high-visibility projects nationwide
Occasional weekend work based on project timelines
Physical role requiring:
Lifting up to 75 lbs
Climbing ladders and working in active job sites
Operating scissor lifts and man lifts safely
