Salt Lake City, Phoenix, or Las Vegas .
Travel:
As required. Expected travel is 25%, with periods of up to 50% based on project activity and site walk requirements.

offering. We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer who can help us accelerate our efforts by engaging in both commercial and technical roles.
Summary Responsibilities – DAS Applications Engineer
The DAS Applications Engineer is a hybrid technical and strategic role responsible for the lifecycle of our in-building wireless offerings. This role has three primary areas of responsibility:
Technical Architect:
Successfully plan and manage the technical design phase for a portfolio of projects, ensuring both carrier-grade performance and life-safety compliance.
Relationship & Pipeline Developer:
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with
AHJs (Fire Marshals), Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), General Contractors (GCs), and Property Managers
to create a sustainable project pipeline. Support the sales process by developing deep technical trust with customer decision-makers to help close complex commercial deals.
Strategic DAS SME (Subject Matter Expert):
Contribute to Ethos’ strategy in the DAS/ERRCS space by identifying market needs, trends, and opportunities, developing staffing/tooling budgets, and building systematic internal capabilities.
Essential Duties
RF Engineering and Technical Sales Support
Perform
bid walks
and evaluate site conditions to provide accurate, competitive, and profitable project scopes.
Lead the upfront engineering process for commercial and public safety systems, including comprehensive
iBwave
propagation modeling and heat map generation. Ensure technical compliance and feasibility of all systems.
Develop detailed quotes including complete Bill of Materials (BOM) that balances cost-effectiveness with high-tier performance.
Respond to customer RFPs, RFIs, and other requests for quotes with technical submittals designed to win.
Strategic Relationship Management
Actively develop and maintain strong relationships with
Property Managers and Developers
to identify early-stage commercial DAS opportunities.
Foster collaborative relationships with
AHJs and Fire Marshals
to ensure Ethos is seen and positioned as a preferred, compliant partner.
Coordinate with
Equipment Manufacturers, OEMS, and strategic vendors
to develop deep relationships and partnerships, stay ahead of technology changes and product roadmaps, obtain competitive pricing, and train the Ethos team on developments and build market-leading capabilities.
Leverage relationships with customers, AHJs, vendors, and others to identify opportunities pre-bid. Work with these relationships on development of bid documents and specifications that position Ethos for success.
Cross-sell and expand Ethos services within established accounts to maximize relationship value.
Strategy and Division Growth
Assist the Director of Telecom and other key DAS leaders in assessing division talent and identifying business requirements to scale the DAS offering.
Build a systematic capability for DAS/ERRCS within Ethos, including training programs for Crew Leads and Field Supervisors.
Prepare strategic budgets for tooling, Capex, and materials necessary to maintain a competitive edge in the Western US markets.
Education, Training, and Skills Required
NICET IB-PSC Design
or
NICET Level III (Technician)
certification is highly preferred.
iBwave Certification
(Level 1 or higher) is required.
5 years of experience in Construction or Project Management specifically within DAS/ERRCS.
8-10 years working in Wireless Telecommunication construction or engineering.
Advanced knowledge of carrier specifications, commercial RF standards, and public safety codes (IFC/NFPA).
Strong interpersonal and customer relation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers.
Must maintain a valid state Driver’s License and pass initial background/substance screening.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The employee is regularly required to stand, reach, and climb or balance during site surveys.
Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds when handling test equipment.
Specific vision abilities required include the ability to distinguish colors (critical for reading RF heat maps).
Must be comfortable working on active construction sites, high precarious places, and in extreme weather conditions.
