Position
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers Structures Capability is seeking a Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager (K Level) to lead a high-performing Structures Design team on the P-8 program in Tukwila, WA.

The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to lead projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, an interest in growing and developing their team, and a demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.

Position Responsibilities

Keep safety and quality at the forefront of all activities.

Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in Mechanical & Structural Engineering.

Leads development of engineering solutions in support of current and future projects.

Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management, and leads process improvements.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Location & Work Conditions
This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Security Clearance
Requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance post‑start.

Assessment Requirement
Applicants must complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove the applicant from consideration.

Basic Qualifications

At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil).

5+ years in the aerospace industry working in structural design or analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years leading teams responsible for aerospace structural design and/or analysis tasks.

Knowledge of Boeing products and processes.

Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance performance and engagement.

Technical background with ability to guide and mentor the team.

Pay is based on experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $147,050 – $198,950
