This role can be located in Morrisville, NC or Fairfax, VA.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite, performed in a SCIF environment. A 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain Python applications on Linux servers.
Implement version control best practices using Git, including branching, pull‑request reviews, and CI pipelines.
Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of production systems.
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to deliver secure, scalable software.
Contribute to containerization and orchestration efforts (Docker, Kubernetes) as needed.
Assist in the integration of cloud services (primarily AWS) for development, staging, and production environments.
Produce clear technical documentation and adhere to DoD security and compliance standards.
Basic Qualifications (must have)
Active U.S. Government DoD Top‑Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.
Level 2 – Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience. Additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Professional experience developing software on Linux platforms.
Proven expertise in Python, and Git (branching, merging, CI workflows).
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow secure coding practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Python, Go, and AWS in a systems or application development context.
Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, service mesh).
Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS).
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
