As a Senior Product Development Engineer in one of SIBG´s top invest portfolios, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Being a member of an IATD global R&D team that executes important product development programs to deliver our brand promise of innovation and strong reliability to our customers.

Leading product and technology development programs related to liquid adhesive bonding solutions aligned to business portfolio strategy.

Collaborating with global multi-disciplinary teams to identify and implement new solutions to meet customer needs.

Generating intellectual property strategies and positions, including invention submissions, patents and 3M trade secrets.

Contributing to the strategic direction of the business and driving growth initiatives through new product development.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university (completed and verified prior to start).

At least three (3) years of product or technology development experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Knowledgeable in formulating adhesives, including epoxy, acrylic and urethane adhesives.

Experience in liquid dispensing or automation.

Experience with analytical methods for materials characterization, especially rheological methods.

Demonstrated experience successfully developing and commercializing products, including experience with phase gate new product introduction methodologies.

Collaborative interpersonal style with a global mindset.

Experience developing intellectual property portfolios in collaboration with legal and other technical experts.

Self-starter with strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (oral, written and presentation).

Results driven and self-motivated, with a growth mindset.

Work location
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN, or another 3M location.

Travel
May include up to 5% domestic/international travel.

Compensation
Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits, such as Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.
