Overview

Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Cardiothoracic Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self-starters and offers an opportunity to be part of a growing and well-established group with a robust staff in the Cardiothoracic Surgery program.
Morristown Medical Center is the hub for the Atlantic Health System Heart Care program and offers a premier cardiac surgery program. The highest volume cardiac surgery program in New Jersey, performing more than 1,200 open heart procedures annually. U.S. News & World Report ranks Morristown Medical Center as a top hospital nationwide for cardiology & heart surgery.
Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Professional will work in a 24-bed Critical Care unit and will be integral in the pre/post operative care of cardiac surgery patients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team that includes Surgeons, Intensivists, NPs, and PAs. The ideal candidate will have procedural-based experience including, but not limited to, central line placements and arterial line insertions, and will initiate appropriate interventions and orders and appropriate diagnostic tests. Critical care experience is preferred.
Qualifications

Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program
NP or PA Certification and NJ License is required
DEA and CDS is required
ACLS and BLS required
Minimum of 2-3 years of Critical Care or Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
Excellent communication and computer skills
Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
