Major Responsibilities

Liaison Between Physician and Nursing Staff – Serve as the primary contact between the Wound Specialist Physician and the nursing team, ensuring seamless communication and care coordination.
Wound Care Program Development – Actively participate in the creation and achievement of Wound Care Program objectives, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
Educational Leadership – Provide staff development by delivering educational programming to promote wound care knowledge and best practices within the nursing team.
Policy and Procedure Implementation – Assist in the implementation and compliance of wound care policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team – Work closely with the Interdisciplinary Team to address all aspects of care that contribute to effective wound healing.
Direct Resident Care – Assess, treat, and monitor residents\' wounds as ordered by the physician, ensuring appropriate care, follow-up, and resident comfort.
Develop Individualized Treatment Plans – Assist in creating personalized treatment plans for each resident, promoting effective healing and improved outcomes.
Communication with Physicians – Maintain ongoing communication with physicians to provide updates on resident care and ensure a comprehensive approach to wound management.
Regulatory Compliance – Assist in facilitating regulatory compliance during surveys and inspections as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
Innovative Healthcare Solutions – Continuously look for opportunities to improve systems and processes that enhance the quality and effectiveness of wound care and overall resident outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing school –

RN or LPN

with active licensure to practice in the state of employment.
Wound Care Certification

– Current Wound Care Certification required, with CPR certification.
A minimum of 1 year of wound care experience (preferably 2 years) in a healthcare setting.
Passion for Patient Care – Must be compassionate, detail-oriented, and dedicated to providing the best care for residents.
Strong Communication Skills – Ability to collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams effectively.
Knowledge of Regulatory Standards – Familiarity with corporate and external regulatory guidelines related to wound care and healthcare practices.
