Instructional Designer, Senior

As an Instructional Designer you will develop training that supports national security missions. You will build engaging, learner‑centered courses in both classroom and online settings, working closely with subject‑matter experts, instructors, and learning technologists to ensure the training meets the specific needs of the users.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with SMEs, instructors, and learning technologists to capture training needs and advise on appropriate learning solutions.

Design creative learning experiences that place the learner at the center of the instructional flow.

Produce training materials, including multimedia, graphics, and other assets, following instructional‑design methodologies.

Apply emerging learning technologies and strategies such as blended learning, gamification, and modern design tools to create interactive lessons.

Collect and analyze evaluation data using frameworks such as the Kirkpatrick Model to refine training and maximize impact.

Mentor junior team members and share expertise in instructional‑design best practices.

Identify new opportunities to support learning needs and develop innovative solutions.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional instructional‑design experience using adult‑learning methodologies.

Experience designing instructor‑led and web‑based training.

Ability to apply accessibility and usability standards to learning solutions.

Analytical skill to transform policies, regulations, and other content into effective training.

TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing learning‑centered experiences using ADDIE or similar instructional design models.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Adult‑Learning Theories and Implementation Certification.

Master’s degree in Instructional Design or related field.

Clearance Requirements
Applicants must possess TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and be eligible for a security investigation.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges from $69,400 to $158,000 annually based on location, education, experience, and contract requirements. Full‑time and part‑time employees (20+ hours per week) are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, paid leave, tuition assistance, and other employee benefits.
