Purpose
To assist the site director in the daily operation of the UT Child Development Center.
Responsibilities
Maintain all enrollment and staff records including immunizations.
Supervise classrooms and staff at the program.
Give tours, communicate daily with parents and visitors.
Assist with maintaining requirements of Child Care Licensing and Accreditation standards as well as requirements for health and safety.
Assist with staffing the program and hiring new employees.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Demonstration of the competencies: Motivating others, Planning work for others, Managing conflict, Managing and measuring work, and Complying with policies and procedures at The University of Texas at Austin, typically acquired by a Bachelor's Degree, one year of experience as a teacher or administrator of a licensed child care facility and the university's Transition to Management Certificate (or equivalent).
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in child related field. Previous experience working as a director or assistant director of a licensed child development center. Previous experience working in an accredited child development center. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Stable work history.
Salary Range
$65,000

Work Shift
Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm
Position may occasionally require work during non-business hours for center events and required professional development. Also, being able to help with opening shift on occasion is a plus (7:00am - 4:00pm).
Employment Eligibility
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Staff who are promotion/transfer eligible may apply for positions without supervisor approval.
Retirement Plan Eligibility
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
Background Checks
A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
