Position Summary
PGY2 Pharmacy Resident - Brooklyn.
This 12‑month Pharmacy Residency program provides an intensive, individualized experience in the inpatient setting. The resident collaborates on patient care, participates in medical emergencies, and provides pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic consultation to become a competent general pharmacy practitioner. The program follows the American Society of Health‑System Pharmacy (ASHP) guidelines and accreditation standards.
Job Responsibilities
To fulfill the core values and mission of NYU Langone Health and incorporate them into the performance of duties.
Develop and maintain a high‑level clinical pharmacy practice; participate in multidisciplinary bedside rounds; provide pharmacotherapeutic, pharmacokinetic, and pharmaco‑economic consultation; respond to medical emergencies, airway, stroke, and acute coronary syndrome pagers; collect patient admission histories; engage in transition of care; counsel patients and caregivers; and participate in educational initiatives.
Provide oversight for quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve care quality.
Contribute to the professional development of staff, including pharmacists and clinical pharmacists.
Identify and develop policies and procedures that optimize pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation standards and applicable regulations.
Evaluate and report measures of patient encounter productivity and identify methods to enhance efficiency.
Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines to enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety.
Document and report clinical interventions, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors.
Participate in hospital committees as assigned by the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Identify and provide expertise for Medication Use Evaluations.
Maintain professional competency and certification.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of New York.
Preferred Licenses
Pharmacy Intern Permit‑NYS.
Pharmacist License‑NYS.

Salary range: $48,750.00 – $54,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range listed does not include bonuses, incentive, differential pay, or other compensation.
