Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize DB2 databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security
Manage DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage agreements, including renewals and compliance
Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of DB2 on AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms
Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation of routine DBA tasks, backups, and monitoring
Troubleshoot database issues, performance bottlenecks, and platform-level problems
Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure, and security teams for database support
Implement backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery procedures
Document procedures, configurations, and changes per DPS standards
May require work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays with pre-approval
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years experience with DB2 Databases
8+ years experience with DB2 licensing/Passport Advantage
2+ years experience with AIX/UNIX/Linux Platform
2+ years experience with Shell programming/scripting
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years experience with DB2 on AIX specifically
Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization
Familiarity with state government IT environments and compliance requirements
