Family Medicine Patient Services Specialist

Position Description
This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of clinic patient flow, serving as the primary contact for patients. Duties include scheduling appointments, preparing paperwork before visits, receiving patients, maintaining records, processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies, and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may have cash‑handling responsibilities.

Major / Essential Functions

Provide excellent customer service.

Schedule patient appointments using computer systems, following clinic guidelines and processes.

Check patients in and out, ensuring accurate and complete entry of patient information.

Collect patient co‑payments in various forms (cash, credit card, checks/money orders).

Perform insurance verification and verify benefit eligibility for services.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.

At least 1 year of customer service, office, or related experience. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual English/Spanish.

Job Details

Job type: Full Time.

Pay basis: Hourly.

Pay grade minimum: 16.00

Pay grade maximum: 17.50

Pay statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.

Shift: Day.

Schedule details: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
